How to Stay More Focused
In elementary school….
…I was diagnosed with adhd and I was prescribed medicine.
(I never took my meds – I hated swallowing pills back then)
My teachers would always say to my parents “he’s not focused” “he needs special attention” and stuff.
It was really the fact that I wasn’t focused. It was more due to the fact that I was interested in what I was learning in school. You see, I’ve always been a visionary and dreamer. I like dreaming of stuff all day.
I didn’t enjoy sitting in a classroom learning about math and science all day. I just wanted to play video games.
Sometimes it’s not focus itself that’s the problem, it’s what we’re trying to focus on.
And fast forwarding you a few years to my first year of college. I finished my first semester with like a 3.7gpa or something like that. (I never produced that kind of results in school before)
…but my second semester, I dropped out.
Well, there were a lot of reasons. One was due to the fact that I had a bulging disc in my back and by the time my second semester of school came around. I could barely walk without being in excruciating pain.
The second reason was because I lost all interest in school.
You see, when I did my high school planning for my life. I actually wanted to join the Special Forces in the Air Force and become a Para-rescue men. And during my firefighting days (or my car crash) I ended up rupturing a disc in my back and it disqualified me from every being eligible of becoming a PJ.
(one of the most depressing days of my life)
So during my second year of college when my back was at its worse. I wasn’t able to sleep without waking up in the middle of the night in pain. And I could barely carry my backpack without being in pain. So it was very hard to focus on school at this time.
You see, sometimes we have to much going on at one time to be able to focus on everything.
So what I did was I dropped out of college that year and focused on getting my back better and my health. It was the best decision of my life because it opened up so many more possibilities for me later on down the road.
After I fixed my back, I ended up finding my passion in the online marketing world and I became a top expert in the field of online marketing, real quickly.
Most of it comes back to deciding to focus on one issue or thing at a time.
And if you want learn how to focus more, then focus on ONE thing at a time. Its when we try and do to many things at once that we lost all our focus and motivation.
So as a member of the Global Network I encourage you to start practicing this in your life. Begin by focusing on one thing at a time.
